Getting to know your bingo lingo

A massive part of the appeal with online bingo is the chance to meet likeminded people who enjoy the same hobby. To this end all sites have chat rooms where their players can chat and have a bit of banter with each other and make new friends. You will generally find the room is hosted by a member of staff; these are some times called CM’s (chat moderators) or CH’s (chat hosts).

These members of staff are there to help and advise players, solve any enquiries, guide new players and generally keep things ticking over. Their secondary role is to run chat games, these vary wildly from site to site and give the players a chance for a little extra fun along with the chance of winning a few extra bingo bucks. If you are new to online bingo you are probably baffled by some of the abbreviations that fly around the chat room. To help you understand this new ‘bingo lingo‘ I have compiled this small guide:

3TG Means the player needs 3 balls to bingo
2TG Means the player needs 2 balls to bingo
1TG Means the player needs 1 balls to bingo
AFK Away from keyboard
BBL Be back later
BBS Be back soon
BRB Be right back
CYA Goodbye
GL Good luck
GLE Good luck everyone
GM Good morning
HB Hurry back
L8R Later (as in I will be back later)
LMAO Laughing my ass off
LOL Laugh out loud
NP No problem
OMG Oh My God (meaning I am in shock)
POOF Means you were booted
ROFL Rolling on the floor laughing
ROFLMAO Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off
SS So sorry

TY Thank you
TYVM Thank you very much
WB Welcome back
WTG Way to go (meaning well done)
