I am sure we can all agree that free bingo for real cash prizes is a good thing after all what can be better then winning a few quid without risking any of your hard earned pennies. Since Cheeky Bingo first introduced the concept in February it has snowballed to such a point that recent research shows that these free bingo rooms accounted for a whopping 31% of all activity in July; a massive increase from just 3% in January of this year. I do however have one major problem with this new concept and that is in my opinion free bingo has killed the bingo promotion.

When I started as bingo writer I could log on to any of the major online bingo sites and find a promotions that would grab me by the throat and not let me go until I had registered and played at least enough games to give me a slim chance of whatever prize was on offer. Every month you would find the likes of 888ladies Bingo, Wink Bingo and Foxy Bingo running really inventive promotions with prizes that would really excite me. It was not so long ago that we had Dream Bingo giving away a whole heap of amazing prizes including luxurious holidays, home entertainment packages and award winning cars and at one point even Mail Bingo was offering an amazing villa in Spain worth £250,000 to one of their lucky players.

These days when I do my daily rounds looking for exciting news for you I very often find myself coming up blank because sites are now investing the money they previously used on prizes to pay for the real cash jackpots in their free bingo games. Surely there is enough room in the market for both approaches after all not all of us log in just to play free bingo, some of us actually love the gamble.

There is one site out there however that has not forgotten about the big bingo promotion so I really must applaud New Sun Bingo who are currently giving away 100 brand new Fiat Pandas; it’s good to see at least one bingo site still catering for real bingo players.
